If you have any questions for the administrators, feel free to ask them here. If questions asked here are considered good general information or are asked too frequently, they will be moved into the FAQ thread, which should remain much more compact than this thread. Please read the FAQs before asking questions here.

I just posted this, a youtube link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJvVEt6F ... re=related

I then clicked the "youtube" button thing to put in the code to make it, I guess, a youtube video in the actual post. Okay, so I got the {YOUTUBE}{/YOUTUBE} except with brackets, right?

And that's what it posted. No video, just the link surrounded by the code. I'm able, now, to post links, so...?

An excellent question, one that should probably be moved into our FAQ section.

When using the "youtube" tab on the site, you have to have a youtube link that only contains the video id. So, after the question mark (?), you can only have the v= section. If you see any ampersands (&) after that, you need to remove everything past it. Let's do an example. Say I'm trying to post the Nyan Cat video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUl ... re=related

This will not work. The &feature=related part of the link will break the youtube tag. You must remove it. The link should look like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4

Don't quite know if this is the right place to put this, but...
I've been working through Daemon's Song off-and-on for the past couple years, and I've recently discovered the 3DS browser to be excellent for reading fiction for me - the small screen eliminates my tendency to skim. Anyway, said browser won't load the reader the site uses. What are the chances of you putting up a plaintext version?

Unlikely, unfortunately. The reason that we display the current flash-based content that we do is because it would be prohibitively difficult for someone to just write a script to go rip all of the text out, make their own manuscript, and then go and try to publish it for themselves. I know it's not something that's extremely likely, but I've heard worse horror-stories, so we're hedging our bets.

I did some reading around, and it looks like Nintendo promised Flash support for the DS browser back in May 2007, and then promptly never delivered on it.

I'll try to keep rummaging this around in the back of my head and see if I can think anything up.

I was wondering if you were still around/reading. =)

You could trademark the Onion Knighthood universe, so you'll have legal backing if anyone tries to publish it.

Alternately, and I understand if you don't want to do this, you could PM me the text and I could read the PM with the 3DS browser.

I've already got a copyright. Unfortunately, the reality is that once someone else publishes something, even if you win a lawsuit, you never *really* get the intellectual property back.

As far as the PM idea goes... I actually don't have a plaintext version of the Onion Knight novels. They're all Microsoft Word formatted. I'm not sure it would convert to plaintext cleanly.

You could PM the documents to me (if you're okay with it, of course).

I... wouldnt imagine the DS could read those, either.
